To provide a coated film formation method which enables formation of a coated film that is excellent in followability to a substrate and is excellent in aesthetics.SOLUTION: In a coated film formation method for sequentially coating a first coating material and a second coating material to a base material, the first coating material contains 80-1,000 pts.wt. of a powder component with respect to 100 pts.wt. of a solid content of a resin component, and the second coating material contains 5-200 pts.wt. of scaly particles with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the solid content of the resin component.SELECTED DRAWING: None
