The formation method includes applying the coating material in a first application direction to form an application part (p), and applying the coating material in an application direction different from the first application direction to form an application part (q). 【課題】複雑で自然な色調の濃淡を有する美観性の高い装飾被膜面の形成方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、色調の濃淡を有する装飾被膜の形成方法であって、基材に、樹脂成分及び鱗片状金属粒子を含む被覆材を塗付するものであり、上記被覆材を第一の塗付方向で塗付して塗付部（ｐ）を形成し、かつ、上記被覆材を第一の塗付方向とは異なる塗付方向で塗付して塗付部（ｑ）を形成することを含み、上記塗付部（ｐ）及び上記塗付部（ｑ）を含む模様を形成することを特徴とする。【選択図】なし
