In the western style toilet device, a control unit 5 controls a toilet lid drive unit 22 to start a closing operation of the toilet lid 20 when the washing instruction means issues the washing instruction and the toilet lid open/close detection unit 21 determines that the toilet lid 20 is open, and controls the toilet lid drive unit 22 to stop the closing operation of the toilet lid 20 when there is a toilet lid closing cancel command during the closing operation of the toilet lid 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
