To provide a hydraulic pressure drive system capable of improving the operability of a hydraulic actuator.SOLUTION: A hydraulic pressure drive system includes a hydraulic pump 11 that can vary a discharge flow rate of a working liquid, meter-in control valves 13 and 15 that control a meter-in flow rate of the working fluid flowing from the hydraulic pump to hydraulic actuators 2 and 3, meter-out control valves 14 and 16 that are provided separately from the meter-in control valves, and control a meter-out flow rate of the working fluid discharged from the hydraulic actuators to a tank 10, an operation device 20 that outputs an operation command, first pressure sensors 18R and 19R that detect the discharge pressure of the hydraulic actuator, and a control device 21 that sets a target meter-out flow rate according to the operation command from the operation device, and controls the opening of the meter-out control valves on the basis of the discharge pressure detected by the first pressure sensors and the target meter-out flow rate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
