To provide a sediment pumping device and a sediment pumping method capable of efficiently pumping sediment even when the viscosity of the sediment is high.SOLUTION: A sediment pumping device according to one embodiment includes a pipe 2 and a hopper 11 having an internal space 11b and in which the sediment S is put into the internal space 11b, a cylinder 12 that can move in the internal space 11b while penetrating a wall portion 11c of the hopper 11, a piston 13 that pushes out the sediment S that has entered the cylinder 12, an upper screw 14 which is arranged above the cylinder 12 in the internal space 11b and conveys the sediment S thrown into the internal space 11b, a lower screw 15 which is arranged below the upper screw 14 in the internal space 11b and conveys the sediment S thrown into the internal space 11b, and a sediment discharge port 16 formed on the wall portion 11c of the hopper 11 and discharging the sediment S conveyed by the lower screw 15 from the internal space 11b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
