To provide a method for filling an open pore in the matrix of a ceramic base composite material with a ceramic, even when the open pore formed in the matrix of the ceramic base composite material has a size (for example, width) of several μm or less.SOLUTION: A method for filling an open pore formed in the matrix of a ceramic base composite material including reinforcing fiber in the matrix, with a ceramic to make the matrix, comprises repeating the following steps (A) and (B), in a state with the ceramic base composite material disposed in a liquid material as the raw material of the matrix. (A) Heating the ceramic base composite material to make the liquid material in a film boiling state, which forms a ceramic derived from the liquid material in the open pore. 【課題】セラミックス基複合材料のマトリックス内に生じた開気孔の寸法（例えば幅）が数μｍ以下であっても当該開気孔にセラミックスを充填できる技術を提供する。【解決手段】マトリックス内に強化繊維が設けられたセラミックス基複合材料においてマトリックス内に生じた開気孔をマトリックスとなるセラミックスにより埋める方法であって、マトリックス原料である液体材料内にセラミックス基複合材料が配置されている状態で、次の（Ａ）と（Ｂ）を繰り返し行う。（Ａ）セラミックス基複合材料を加熱することにより、液体材料を膜沸騰状態にして、液体材料に由来するセラミックスを開気孔内に生じさせる。（Ｂ）セラミックス基複合材料を液体材料の沸点より低い温度まで冷却する。【選択図】図１
