To provide a simple rail grinder capable of reliably and flexibly rough positioning and fine positioning of a grind-to-correct unit.SOLUTION: A rail grinder 1 for grinding to correct a pair of rails 2 of a railroad track includes: a machine frame 3; multiple guide rollers 4 rotatably mounted on the machine frame 3; a cross slide 13; and at least one grind-to-correct unit 61 arranged on the cross slide 13. The cross slide 13 is attached to the machine frame 3 in a displaceable manner in the lateral direction (y). The rail grinder 1 includes a rough-positioning device 22 for roughly positioning of the cross slide 13 in the lateral direction (y); and a fine positioning device for fine-positioning 23 the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
