To provide a polishing device of a slate capable of polishing a surface layer of a wavy slate further exactly while preventing dust occurring in polishing from being scattered.SOLUTION: A polishing device comprises a brush member 20 polishing a surface layer of a slate by rotating vertically around a predetermined axial line m10 relative to a surface of the slate and a cover 60 provided so as to enclose the brush member 20. The brush member 20 has a rotational shaft 21 rotating around the predetermined axial line and a plurality of brush pieces projecting to the outside in a radial direction from an outer peripheral surface of the rotational shaft. The plurality of brush pieces is arranged spirally on the outer peripheral surface of the rotational shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
