To provide a residence capable of increasing natural communication in a family.SOLUTION: A residence (1) includes a public space (20) that includes: a living space (30) arranged in a roughly L-shape; and a core space (40) that is placed in the central position of the indoor space having a first partition wall and a second partition wall each facing the living space, in which a kitchen and a living room are integrated without being separated by any door. An entrance hall (12) communicating with the living space is placed on the back side of a first partition wall (41), and a staircase (60) communicating with the living space is placed on the back side of a second partition wall (42).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
