To provide a base isolation system in which a replacement work property of a laminated rubber device is improved, and to provide a method of removing a laminated rubber device.SOLUTION: A base isolation system includes: a laminated rubber device 10 installed in a base isolation layer I between an upper structure U and a lower structure L, and fixed to one of the upper structure U and the lower structure L; and a stopper part 40 provided on the other one of the upper structure U and the lower structure L, and coming into contact with part of the laminated rubber device 10 when a horizontal force acts on the base isolation layer I. The stopper part 40 can be removed from the other one of the upper structure U and the lower structure L, or one part can be removed from a remaining part of the laminated rubber device 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
