To provide an evaluation method for a paving material that takes into account deformation caused by an external factor and environmental temperature, and a construction method for a paving material.SOLUTION: An evaluation method for a paving material comprises a deformation rate acquisition step in which a plate-shaped test piece P that imitates the paving material is held at test temperature, and while the outer edge of the test piece P is fixed, a protruding part A is formed by pressing a pressing member 3 against one plate surface of the test piece P and making the other plate surface protrude, and a deformation rate is acquired, which is the ratio of the height of the protruding part A to the pressing amount of the pressing member 3, and an evaluation step for acquiring deformation properties on the surface of the paving material on the basis of this deformation rate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
