To provide a polygonal cylindrical structure capable of exhibiting a stiffening effect without the need for special processing.SOLUTION: A polygonal cylindrical structure has a polygonal shape in which horizontal cross-sectional shapes have the same number of corners, which the polygonal shape is formed of 6 to 24-polygon shapes, and which comprises a plurality of flat plate members 10 made of steel. The flat plate members 10 is composed of at least two types of members with different plate thicknesses. The flat plate members 10 arranged in a circumferential direction are arranged so that a thin plate member 11 and a thick plate member 12 which is thicker than the thin plate member 11 are adjacent to each other. 【課題】特殊な加工を施すことなく補剛効果を発揮することができる多角形筒形構造を提供する。【解決手段】水平方向の断面形状が同じ角数の多角形状となり、多角形状は、６角形以上２４角形以下で形成され、鋼材製の複数の平板部材１０を備え、平板部材１０は、板厚の異なる少なくとも２種類以上の部材から構成され、周方向に配置される平板部材１０は、薄板部材１１と、薄板部材１１より厚みが大きい厚板部材１２とが隣接して配置されるとともに、周方向両側端が相互に溶接により連結されている。【選択図】図１
