To provide a pollution diffusion suppression device and a pollution diffusion suppression method, which can effectively suppress diffusion of pollution generated when dredging sediment on a water bottom while ensuring workability of dredging operation by a pump dredger.SOLUTION: Diffusion of pollution D generated when boring sediment S on a water bottom B with a cuter head 5 is suppressed by providing an injection part 21 above the cutter head 5 mounted on a pump dredger 1 and injecting water W toward the cutter head 5 from the injection part 21 when boring the sediment S on the water bottom B with the cutter head 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

【課題】ポンプ浚渫船による浚渫作業の作業性を確保しつつ、水底の土砂を浚渫する際に生じる汚濁の拡散を効果的に抑制できる汚濁拡散抑制装置および汚濁拡散抑制方法を提供する。【解決手段】ポンプ浚渫船１が有するカッターヘッド５の上方に噴射部２１を設けて、カッターヘッド５によって水底Ｂの土砂Ｓを掘削するときに噴射部２１からカッターヘッド５に向かって水Ｗを噴射することで、カッターヘッド５によって水底Ｂの土砂Ｓを掘削するときに生じる汚濁Ｄの拡散を抑制する。【選択図】図３
