To provide a fitting and a fitting construction method that can improve workability and reduce materials when building a fitting with an upper rail.SOLUTION: A construction method of a fitting 1 includes processes in which: an upper rail 30 is placed between upper ends of a pair of vertical frames 20, each of the upper ends of the pair of vertical frames 20 are connected to both ends of the upper rail 30 with L-shaped metal fittings 50, and a three-sided frame-shaped assembly body 40 is assembled with the pair of vertical frames 20 and the upper rail 30; the assembly body 40 is placed inside an opening part 2A that is formed in the body 2; each of the pair of vertical frames 20 is fixed to pillars 4 on both sides of the opening part 2A; the upper rail 30 is fixed to a lintel 5, which is the upper edge of the opening part 2A; and a folding door 10 is mounted on the upper rail 30 via hoists 15 so as to be openable and closable.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
