To provide a fitting and a fitting construction method capable of improving workability and reducing materials when constructing the fitting including an upper rail.SOLUTION: A method of constructing a fitting 1 includes the steps of: fixing a pair of vertical frames 20 to the side edges on both sides of an opening 2A; mounting a holding member 50 to the upper end of one of the vertical frames 20 for vertical movement; temporarily holding one end of an upper rail 30 to the holding member 50; mounting another holding member 50 to the upper end of the other vertical frame 20 for vertical movement; temporarily holding the other end of the upper rail 30 to the other holding member 50; fixing each holding member 50 to the vertical frame 20 in a state where the position of each holding member 50 in the vertical direction is adjusted to the position of the upper rail 30 in the vertical direction; fixing the upper rail 30 to the upper edge of the opening 2A; and installing a sash 10 to the upper rail 30 so as to be openable and closable via a hanging wheel 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
