The present invention relates to a water receiver type expansion apparatus of an expansion joint for a bridge of a railroad and, more specifically, provides a water receiver type expansion apparatus of an expansion joint for a bridge of a railroad, which can closely seal both ends of a water receiver. To achieve this, the present invention comprises: two fixed frames; a water receiver composed of a wind supporting a water receiver body; a water expansion rubber index material preventing water from leaking into a lower portion of the water receiver; a packing preventing the water receiver from being left from an installation space of the fixed frames and blocking water to flow into the installation space; and a protective cover protecting an upper portion of the packing.
