Disclosed is a cartridge type filter element, which may be easily replaced, maintained, or repaired. The cartridge type filter element comprises: a cylinder; a filter area formed since a metal plate surrounds the cylinder; an upper support including a first upper surface positioned along the circumference of the top of the filter area and a second upper surface extending from the outer end of the cylinder to the first upper surface and a second upper surface positioned at top of the filter area; a lower support including a first lower surface positioned along the circumference of the bottom of the filter area and a second lower surface extending from the outer end of the cylinder to the first lower surface and positioned at the bottom of the filter area; and an element ring surrounding side surfaces of the first upper surface, first lower surface, and filter area to fix the filter area, upper support, and lower support to each other.
