The vibration damping member includes a opposite plate that is provided at one or both surfaces of the window plate so as to be opposite the window plate, a viscoelastic layer provided between the window plate and the opposite plate, and a compression member provided on the surface of the window plate as viewed in a plate thickness direction to compress the viscoelastic layer in the plate thickness direction.
