One aspect of the modular wall component includes at least two vertical panels; at least two horizontal panels configured to form a lattice frame together with the at least two vertical panels, wherein each of the at least two horizontal panels is connected to each of the at least two vertical panels by an interior joint, respectively; and a feature configured to secure a mechanical component, an electrical component, or a plumbing component.
