Disclosed is a multi-functional tank. The bottom of the tank body comprises a water storage area, a first buffering area, and a drainage area. The height of the water storage area is greater than that of the first buffering area. The height of the first buffering area is greater than that of the drainage area. The present invention also discloses an overflow-prevention apparatus for use in conjunction with the multi-functional tank. The overflow-prevention apparatus comprises an overflow-prevention part and a water inlet. The shape of the overflow-prevention part is identical to the shape of the upper portion of the drainage area. The present tank uses the principle of gravity, by means of which water flows naturally from a higher height to a lower height. Via the water flow, the present invention achieves bringing waste into the first buffering area, and eventually gathering waste in the drainage area; in conjunction with the anti-overflow apparatus, waste is prevented from flowing from the drainage area back into the first buffering area, solving the technical problem of tank bottoms being difficult to clean and achieving the technical result of a self-cleaning tank.
