Stairway (1) and method for assembling the same, wherein the stairway (1) comprises at least one stair tread (3), wherein the at least one stair tread (3) comprises a tread portion (31 ) that is delimited by a nose portion (33), a rear portion (35) opposite the nose portion (33), and two side portions (37). The at least one stair tread (3) is in a usage position provided with clamping means (7) arranged to receive and connect elongated bearing rods (5) to the stair tread (3) to bear the at least one stair tread (3) at a distance above a base (U). The clamping means (7) comprises separate clamping means (73; 75, 77), one for each bearing rod (5), wherein each clamping means is arranged to connect the stair tread (3) to a bearing rod (5) that is inserted through an opening (31') in the tread portion (31).
