Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schlitzwandfräse mit einem kastenförmigen Gehäuse, an dessen Oberseite eine Hubeinrichtung anbringbar ist, mindestens einem Fräsrad, welches an einer Unterseite des Gehäuses angeordnet und zum Abtragen von Bodenmaterial drehend antreibbar ist, wobei entlang des Außenumfangs des Fräsrades Fräszähne mindestens einer Umfangsreihe angeordnet sind, an welcher mindestens ein axialer Freiraum angrenzt, und mindestens einer Räumplatte, welche relativ feststehend zum Gehäuse angeordnet ist und in den mindestens einen Umfangsfreiraum an dem Fräsrad zum Räumen von Bodenmaterial eingreift. Nach der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass die mindestens eine Räumplatte beabstandet zum Gehäuse an einem Plattenhalter angebracht ist, wobei zwischen der mindestens einen Räumplatte und dem Gehäuse ein Durchgang gebildet ist, durch welchen im Betrieb abgefrästes Bodenmaterial hindurch nach oben leitbar ist.
