JOINT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF FORMING AT LEAST A PART OF A JOINT STRUCTURE
Described is a joint structure comprising: a first and a second structural member, each structural member comprising a hollow cross-section defining at least a first wall, and an inner surface and an outer surface of the respective structural member; at least a first fixing plate extending along at least a part of a respective end portion of each of the first and second structural members, and adjacent the respective outer surfaces thereof; a plurality of threaded bolts extending through a corresponding one of a plurality of apertures in the first fixing plate and a corresponding one of a plurality of apertures in the respective first wall of each of the first and second structural members, each one of the plurality of bolts thread-wise engaging a corresponding one of a plurality of threaded nuts secured to the respective inner surface of the respective structural member at a location corresponding to the respective aperture in the respective first wall, such that the first fixing plate holds the first and second structural members in a pre-determined position relative to each other and transfers forces and moments between the first and second structural members. Also described is a method of forming a joint structure.
L'invention concerne une structure de joint comprenant : un premier et un second élément structural, chaque élément structural comprenant une section transversale creuse définissant au moins une première paroi, et une surface interne et une surface externe de l'élément structural respectif; au moins une première plaque de fixation s'étendant le long d'au moins une partie d'une partie d'extrémité respective de chacun des premier et second éléments structuraux, et adjacente aux surfaces externes respectives de ceux-ci; une pluralité de boulons filetés s'étendant à travers une ouverture correspondante parmi une pluralité d'ouvertures dans la première plaque de fixation et une ouverture correspondante parmi une pluralité d'ouvertures dans la première paroi respective de chacun des premier et second éléments structuraux, chaque boulon de la pluralité de boulons venant en prise par filetage avec un écrou fileté correspondant parmi une pluralité d'écrous filetés fixés à la surface interne respective de l'élément structural respectif à un emplacement correspondant à l'ouverture respective dans la première paroi respective, de telle sorte que la première plaque de fixation maintient les premier et second éléments structuraux dans une position prédéterminée l'un par rapport à l'autre et transfère des forces et des moments entre les premier et second éléments structuraux. L'invention concerne également un procédé de formation d'une structure de joint.
