The present invention relates to a hierarchical composite material comprising a discontinuous layer of titanium oxide particles dispersed on the surface of a core formed by a mineral particle. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining said material by applying mechanical forces to a dry mixture of titanium oxide particles and minerals. The product of the invention is useful as an opacifier and/or whitening agent in the formulation of paints and plastics.
La presente invención se refiere a un material compuesto jerárquico que comprende una capa discontinua de partículas de óxido de titanio dispersadas sobre la superficie de un núcleo formado por una partícula mineral. La invención también hace referencia a un procedimiento de obtención de dicho material mediante la aplicación de fuerzas mecánicas a una mezcla seca de partículas de óxido de titanio y minerales. El producto de la invención es útil como agente opacificante y/o blanqueador en la formulación de pinturas y plásticos.
