A retractable blind assembly, includes a moveable rail; a second rail; a covering extending between the moveable rail and the second rail; a first elongate flexible member routed along a first path and a second elongate flexible member routed along a second path; a drive member engaged with the first and second elongate flexible members such that rotating the drive member moves the moveable rail to retract or extend the covering; and a translatable element configured to translate in opposite first and second translation directions, perpendicular to the direction of movement of the moveable rail; wherein the translatable element includes the drive member, and the first path includes a first loop extending around the drive member and the second path includes a second loop extending around the drive member, such that the translatable element translating in the first translation direction increases a length of the first path and correspondingly decreases a length of the second path, and the translatable element translating in the second translation direction increases the length of the second path and correspondingly decreases the length of the first path.
