Unmanned vehicle control using simulation and virtual reality techniques
This paper provides an overview of the RoboJeep unmanned vehicle and a control station for teleoperation. The RoboJeep is a testbed for the integration of key technologies for semi-autonomous vehicle operation. The RoboJeep has a layered control system architecture, allowing an incremental development of control layers. The control station enables the interactive control of a teleoperated vehicle and attempts to overcome the drawbacks of teleoperation by utilizing simulation and virtual reality techniques. In addition, the control station allows the testing of the RoboJeep control layer through simulation.
