Feasibility of a Central Urban Area on the Island of St. Croix United States Virgin Islands
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the feasibility of undertaking a planned urbanization of the central area of St. Croix. The pressures towards the Island's development are due to the rapid increase in industrial employment resulting from the Virgin Islands government's policy of providing fiscal incentives to new firms. Therefore, the study undertakes a sectorial projection of future employment on St. Croix, differentiating between establishments likely to settle within the central area or elsewhere on the Island, according to the locational propensities of individual firms.
