The proposed arterial facility will be a two-lane roadway consisting of two 12 foot lanes and two 10 foot paved shoulders. In anticipation of future needs, a four-lane right of way will be acquired, as recommended by the Lackawanna-Luzerne Transportation Study. The total alignment is 1.47 mile in length, adhering to the urban design criteria for a connector-arterial as developed by the Pennsylvania department of transportation. Beginning in Pittston City at the Intersection of Main Street (L.R. 5) with Plank Street (L.R. 40038), the project will be constructed in an easterly direction through undeveloped land. The proposed project is an arterial highway on a new location in Pittston City, Pittston Township and Yatesville Borough, Luzerne County. Environmental impacts are described.
