The Fourth Action Year for the District of Columbia Neighborhood Development Program, H Street Urban Renewal Area
The proposed redevelopment actions provide for the construction of approximately 428 new residential units on sites in the H Street urban renewal area, which are currently estimated to contain 107 occupied residential units and 20 businesses. The rehabilitation proposals would result in the upgrading of approximately 470 buildings out of a total of 2,959 buildings in the H Street area. Environmental effects include the disruption and displacement of existing households and busineses; short term disruptions associated with clearance and construction; and increased demand on the existing water supply and storm/sanitary sewer facilities.
