Positive Control of Construction Floor Loads in Multistorey Concrete Buildings
The problem of construction loads in multistorey concrete structures is discussed and the literature on the subject reviewed. A system is described which enables the designer and builder of multistorey buildings to specify and obtain predetermined distributions of loading among the floors used to support a freshly poured concrete floor. Judicious application of the system can ensure that normal design loadings are not exceeded for the lower floors, and at the same time apportion the floor loadings among the several supporting slabs taking account of their differing load carrying abilities.
