Verification of the Fire Resistance of Construction Elements and Structures
Verification of the fire resistance of construction elements and structures may be performed in different ways; - by use of experimental or theoretical methods. The purpose of the publication is to present an analysis of actual methods, and to predict the response of construction elements and structures when exposed to different thermal loads. Defined specifications are needed for the thermal characteristics of fire test furnaces, and for the equipment used for controlling the fire environment. Theoretical models require access to certain input information. Analyses of the characteristics of real hydrocarbon fires are made to form a basis for a standardized hydrocarbon fire test method.
