Hospital Management Systems Demonstration: Final Report; Appendix F. The Admissions Scheduling and Control System: Programmed Text
The Admissions Scheduling and Control System (ASCS) was developed in 1974 by Walton M. Hancock, Dr. of Eng., and others of the Bureau of Hospital Administration at the University of Michigan. In both overbedded and underbedded institutions, the ASCS has been used to stabilize the occupancy rate which leads to a more predictable use of resources. This, in turn, has great potential for cost savings. The report is a programmed learning test that will teach the basic mechanics of the ASCS.
