Lime-Modified Soil to Increase Subgrade Stability
This study compares the benefits during construction of a lime-modified embankment to an unmodified embankment and after the placement of subsequent pavement layers. Adverse weather conditions did not exist during construction to create the type of observations desired. Deflections, on the average, were lower and more uniform on the lime-modified embankment than on the unmodified embankment. Deflections on the CAM subbase were equal, but those on the lime-modified embankment again were more uniform.
