Acquisition is proposed of 2,113 acres of undeveloped floodplain land within the levees of the Trinity River in the city of Dallas, Texas, for park and recreation purposes under the Department of Housing and Urban Development's open space land program. The overall environmental impact of this proposal is expected to be beneficial, not only in terms of protection and enhancement of the land, but also in terms of the physical, social, and aesthetic environment of the entire Dallas area. No significant adverse environmental effects are associated with the proposal.
