Analysis of Dredge Spoil Material, Section D010, New Carrollton Route
Results are summarized of tests performed on 11 samples from four borings made over open water in the Anacostia River at the location of the planned bridge in Section D010 of New Carrollton Route of the Washington Metropolitan Area Metro system. The investigation was made to determine certain physical and chemical properties of the recent organic alluvium in connection with its disposal from dredging for bridge piers planned at this location. The report contains a geological section which shows the position of these supplementary borings, results of physical and chemical analyses of the potential spoil material and a brief text summarizing the background of the investigation.
