Ohio - Proposed Federal-Aid Highway Project Del-Sr 257-1.49 (Unprogrammed)
The proposed project begins on State Route No. 257 close to State Route No. 750 in Delaware County, Ohio, and terminates at State Route No. US-42, a length of about 5.2 miles. The prime purpose of the project is to provide a safe and efficient highway for the some 1000 vehicles currently using the route to reach the scenic and recreational areas along the O'Shaughnessy Reservoir as well as the developing residential areas along the easterly side of the route. The adverse effects of temporarily destroying the vegative cover and of removal of trees cannot be avoided. Disruption of the residential landscaping and temporary exposure of raw earth during construction cannot be avoided, nor can the filling of the small water area of the Columbus Zoo wildlife refuge.
