The Gonic Dam is a concrete gravity structure founded on bedrock and situated in a broad section of the Cocheco River valley. The dam is bounded at both ends by mill buildings. It is about 155 ft. long and 15-1/2 ft. high. Based on visual inspection and past operational performance, the Gonic Dam is assessed to be in fair condition. The dam is small in size with a significant hazard potential. The test flood is 1/2 the PMF. There are various remedial measures which should be implemented by the owner.
