Stoughton Lake Dam is an earthfill dam with a maximum height of 23 feet and a crest length of 335 feet. The 90 feet crest length ogee spillway is located at the right abutment of the dam. The outlets works consist of an intake, a riser, a 36 inch corrugated metal pipe outlet conduit, and an outlet head wall. The riser is divided into two chambers by stop logs which can be removed to drawdown the reservoir. Hydraulic/hydrologic evaluations revealed that the spillway will pass the spillway design flood (SDF) on 53 percent of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) before overtopping will occur. Therefore, the spillway is assessed as being adequate. The dam was found to be in fair overall condition with the exception of the spillway training walls and the spillway discharge apron. The inspection revealed certain items of remedial work necessary for the dam which should be completed without delay by the owner.
