SYSTEM DESIGN & TEST - Galileo Validation - The Navigation Message - The GIOVE-A satellite broadcast the first-ever Galileo signals on January 12, 2006. GIOVE-B is scheduled for launch by April 2008. The authors describe generation of the first Galileo navigation messages, operational and performance aspects, and signal improvements. Some improvements have been already identified and their implementation is ongoing.
