Shored/Reshored Construction of Flat Plates
A commercial finite element analysis program (SAP V2) was used to examine an idealized, multifloor, single-bay plate using beam/ plate elements supported on corner columns and rotationally free or rotationally fixed along the column lines. Beeby10 described the research performed on an experimental, seven-floor flat plate structure at Cardington (British Research Establishment), England, as part of the European Concrete Building Project.\n This results in a significant decrease in the load ratios for the supporting plates below the top level of reshores.
