Conclusions The proposed method of protecting impellers and turbine linings against cavitation, which involves painting them with a zinc paint and applying cathodic protection from an outside direct-current source, is characterized by a sufficiently simple technology of protection and does not require industrial mastering of new, special equipment or modification of the units themselves.A check of the indicated method of protection on the No. 18 unit of the V. L Lenin Volga Hydroelectric Power Station for 3 years confirmed the high effectiveness of this method of protection.
