Development of Forest Plants Producing Biofuel Sources: Lessons Patutrejo Village, Purworejo, Central Java
Nyamplung (Calophyllum innophylum) and malapari (Pongamia pinnata) are two plants that produce biofuel sources developed in Patutrejo Village, Purworejo District, Central Java, Indonesia. This paper aims to determine the condition of biofuel development of nyamplung and malapari based on the experience of developing a pilot project in Purworejo District, Central Java, Indonesia. The method used in this paper is a literature study or a review of various research results related to biofuel development in Patutrejo Village, Purworejo, both sourced from international journals, national journals, international proceedings, and national proceedings. The results showed that the development of biofuel-producing energy plants, both in nyamplung and malapari, was influenced by internal and external factors. Related parties which carry out the biofuel development program must make the community not only the object but also the subject of the program to increase community participation in biofuel development.
