Sustainable Mobility and the X-Minute City: The Case Study of Berlin and Teheran
The idea of the x-minute city has become extremely popular in recent years. This idea has brought about a spatiotemporal perspective on the physical and functional organization of cities with the underlying ambition to favor sustainable mobility. However, the relationship between the x-minute city and people-chosen means of transport is still underexplored. In this work, we compare the extent to which two cities with radically different sustainable mobility uptakes fit with the idea of the x-minute city. This analysis provides initial insights on what factors could be mediating the accessibility–mobility nexus. Future works will include more cities to develop a statistical model and provide further evidence.
