CRITICAL TRACTIVE STRESS OF REPRESENTATIVE SIZES IN NONUNIFORM SEDIMENTS
Several relationships have been proposed in the past for computation of critical tractive stress (CTS) of a particular size fraction in terms of ratio of CTS of this size to the representative size in a sediment mixture. The data on CTS of nonuniform sediments have been obtained from the previous investigations and analyzed to check the predictors for CTS of representative sizes used by different investigators in their proposed relationship. Also, the method with efficient predictor of representative size has been recommended for computation of CTS of different size fractions in a nonuniform sediment bed.
