Investigations of road pavements
Investigations were done to estimate the stresses within road pavement systems. With special testing devices the modulus of elasticity was determined for the materials used. Then a FEA-model was developed and matched to the real conditions using these values and results of in situ strain measurements. Exemplary calculations with this model showed some weak points in special road pavement systems in use.
