Shear carrying capacity of ultra-high performance concrete beams
UHPC (Ultra High-Performance Concrete) is a high-tech material opening new opportunities especially for slender constructions. Within the collaborative research project 'Sustainable Building with Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC)' supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) design models for pretensioned beams have been developed at the Institute of Structural Concrete at RWTH Aachen University. Several tests were performed to investigate the bond anchorage and the shear carrying behavior of prestressed concrete beams made of UHPC with and without web openings.
