Load carrying behavior of shear connectors in ultra-high performance concrete
The present paper summarizes the results of a research program involving the testing of push-out specimens and composite beams with innovative continuous shear connectors in UHPC (ultra-high performance concrete). In the push-out tests the load-slip behavior of the shear connectors was evaluated and compared for various parameters (e.g. steel fiber content and transverse reinforcement). The test results indicate that the steel fiber reinforcement ratio has only a minor influence on the load carrying capacity whereas the transverse reinforcement ratio is more vital. The beam tests are focused on the moment carrying capacity and the transition of the shear forces across the joint.
