Theoretical and Practical Risk Assessment Method in Tunneling
The construction industry has experienced a great deal of development over the years by both developed and developing countries. Tunnel construction is one of such aspects which have over the year developed in its methods of construction. Research, however has shown that methods of tunnel construction are becoming more complex and the risk associated to it is increasing, therefore, the need for the application of risk assessment to prevent accidents in tunnel construction exists. This paper aims at highlighting some of the risk in tunnel construction and the theoretical and practical method of risk assessment that can be used to minimize these tunnel risks.
