Using Polymers With Direct Filtration
This article summarizes the research conducted by the East Bay Municipal Utility District, Oakland, Calif., to optimize clay‐polymer coagulation used in conjunction with direct, in‐line filtration to treat low‐turbidity waters. The emphasis is on the district's efforts to ensure that the quality of potable water is consistently high, that chlorine reaction products are minimized, and that all polymer is reacted and removed during filtration.
