Landscapes should be seen not as constituencies of things, animate or inanimate, but as continuous fields, visceral milieux of intersecting social situations, shifting topologies and personal mythologies. The ‘drawing’ of an individual's cognitive map is the residual sediment of their journey through these ambiences.
